Strike!

 

Storms are coming once again and here we find ourselves thinking about "WHAT" can we do this weekend?

It was a late morning after a day filled with NO water.. 💦 that's right, 24 hours of NO water, someone hit the water main and it took them that long to repair it. The funny thing is, we normally hold around 20 Gallons of fresh water in our tanks for just this purpose BUT..... we dump the tanks to sanitize and start doing our spring maintenance on the RV and had not refilled the tank yet when this happened.  Once, the water was turned back on I had a days full work to catch up on with all the cleaning 🧼 left to do, once that was done, I was able to relax but it was late and morning was upon us.

When our children where little, we would take them to the base bowling 🎳 alley and play some games before all the adults would show up and take over the lanes. It was a fun activity for the family, we would also order a pizza 🍕 or 2, play some tunes on the jukebox and trade up.. boy against girls or father with daughters and mom's with sons. These small moments were always a blast 💥 to have, though quick in time, always sweet in in the moments. 

We decided that since the weather was not on our side "AND" we wanted to try something ..do something, we started to look around and see what places are open so, we can once again put our bowling balls 🎳 to the test and knock some rust off of these old bones and see what we can do.. well, how bad we truly are at the game. 

We luckily found that the base nearest us had opened its recreation facility and the bowling alley was in full swing.

The facilities were older styled as most base facilities tend to be, it was well kept and tended, and thankfully on this particularly Saturday morning, not overly crowded. The prices were very reasonable and the also had a full functioning snack bar for families to have a great time at. 

We had a very fun time.. we will be going back again since we know where it is located plus, we own our own balls and shoes which makes us able to skip paying for all the extra rentals that can add on to the final tally at the end of. the night. 

We played 3 rounds, before we called it a day.. headed out with laughter on our lips, a spur of competition running through each other.. creating a back and forth bantering that lasted through the night.. what a fun time. 

Sunday was right there.. sometimes its hard to explain, its like we blink and the week is gone. As we drive to church ⛪️ we sometimes have some of the strangest conversations.. it doesn't have to be about any specific topic, it just will start because of something we last heard, a thing we see on the street or something we remember. 

My husband has a crazy way about him.. movie quotes just pop out of his mouth covering all sorts of topics and they can be hysterical. He draws these quotes from many differing movies however, you hear some of his favorites on a very high frequency especially from the movies of :

These flow freely at odd intervals, creating laughter sometimes at the wrong time but, laughter still. 

These drives give us plenty of time to remember when, plan for the future, laugh often and just be in the moment. I have to say.. there is never a dull moment when you are married to a man like my Henry. 

Well, another weekend has come and gone, we are making plan and seeing what come of it. Thanks for sticking around my fellow ramblers, have a wonderful week.
